The City of San Marcos Community Services will sponsor an interpretive program presented by Project Wildlife at Jack’s Pond Park on Saturday, July 11. The program will heighten awareness of native wildlife and promote a deeper understanding of human/animal interactions. There will be close-up views of live animal ambassadors.
Project Wildlife serves San Diego County as a non-profit organization that promotes conservation through education and wildlife care. The organization’s volunteers care for injured, orphaned and sick native wildlife. Rehabilitated animals are released back into their natural habitats. Project Wildlife’s county-wide care centers provide emergency first aid, long term treatment, and veterinary care.
The program will begin at 10 am and will last approximately 1.5 hours. It is appropriate for children over the age of four who can sit quietly during the presentation.
Jack’s Pond Nature Center and Conservation Barn is located at 986 La Moree in San Marcos and will be open from 9 am to noon. There is a $3 charge per person. An adult must accompany all minors.
