On Wednesday, November 13, the City of San Marcos held a workshop on transforming San Marcos Boulevard and collected public input about shaping the major thoroughfare into a destination that is easily accessible by walking, biking, taking transit or driving. In line with the General Plan Update and the Creek District Specific Plan, the San Marcos Boulevard corridor was presented as the future downtown for San Marcos, slated to become a destination for residents and regional neighbors alike.

Residents who were unable to attend the complete streets workshop regarding the transformation of San Marcos Boulevard are invited to provide input through an online survey through Sunday, December 1 at midnight. Participants can take the survey by visiting www.surveymonkey.com/s/SanMarcosBoulevardCompleteStreets.

As a follow up to the workshop and survey, WalkSanDiego is hosting a “Walk, Bike, and Roll” audit on Saturday, November 23 from 9 to 11 am to assess the boulevard’s corridor on foot. The audit provides an opportunity for an evaluation of the corridor as it relates to the safety, access, comfort and convenience of the walking, biking, transit, and driving environment.

To join WalkSanDiego in assessing the corridor on foot, please RSVP with Kaley Lyons, klyons@walksandiego.org or (619) 544-9255.
