UCSD Tritons just won game 9 in the Baseball Division II College World Series today. UCSD advanced to their first Division II College World Series after winning the West Regional Tournament on May 17. They will play again Thursday against unbeaten Emporia State, and the winner of that game advances to the final.  UCSD Head Coach Dan O’Brien lives here in San Elijo Hills! – He lives in the Acacia community.  Dan O’Brien was named CCAA Coach of the Year after leading UCSD to the conference title.  You can read more about our own Dan O’Brien at http://www.ucsdtritons.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=5800&ATCLID=187337

UC San Diego 13, Dowling 1
Trevor Decker tossed a complete game three-hitter and UC San Diego broke away from a 2-1 lead with six runs in the top of the sixth inning. Josh Tanner and Garrett Imeson paced UC San Diego’s 23-hit attack with four hits apiece as every Triton starter had at least one hit. Daniel Pembroke hit a fourth-inning solo home run for Dowling’s lone run. UC San Diego faces unbeaten Emporia State Thursday at 3 p.m. in a semifinal game. Dowling, which defeated UC San Diego in the opening round, is eliminated from the championship.
