Winter family fun returns to San Marcos

San Marcos Lighting of the Tree

Santa’s Magical Village, tree lighting and holiday parade slated for Dec. 5 weekend

San Marcos is kicking off the winter season with several festive events the whole family can enjoy.

The city’s 20th annual “Lighting of the Tree” will take place Saturday, Dec. 5 at approximately 6:30 pm. Holiday celebrations will continue to Sunday, Dec. 6 at 1 pm with San Marcos’ annual holiday parade presented by the Kiwanis Club of San Marcos. From Saturday, Dec. 5 to Sunday, Dec. 6, residents can also get excited for Santa’s Magical Village located at 3 Civic Center Drive. The two-day event features visits from Santa and Rudolph, carolers, arts and craft vendors, cookie decorating, gourmet food trucks, a recycled ornament contest, and free outdoor entertainment.

To top it off, families can enjoy a pancake, sausage and egg breakfast with Santa Clause on Sunday, Dec. 6 from 9 to 11:30 am. No reservations are required and tickets are available at the door for just $5 for adults and $4 for children.

San Elijo Hills Fall Festival and Parade this Saturday 10/31

San Elijo Hills Fall Festival and Parade
Saturday, October 31st, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am in the town square.
San Elijo Hills Community Association  will host a Fall Festival Children, Pets and even Parents are encouraged to wear your costumes and join  in the town square for some snacks, games and crafts. Parade  at 10:45 starts through the new San Elijo Hills towncenter.
