Monday-
North bound Sheriff vehicle and a south bound white BMW collided at the corner of Twin Oaks and Village Drive this AM. Sheriff was controlling downhill speed of a pack of cars as they approached intersection. Sheriff vehicle lights were not on.

  1. Not surprised this finally happened. A reckless tactic by the Sheriff’s Office to control traffic speed…if that is actually the goal. While I absolutely do not condone speeding, I am completely against enforcement practices that puts any vehicle in harm’s way. One such personal experience I witnessed was a motorcycle officer stepping INTO the oncoming lanes of traffic on SE Road brandishing his radar gun. While my vehicle was several cars back – and going the speed limit – all traffic in front of me had to slam on their brakes to avoid hitting the car in front of them. It was a miracle there wasn’t a chain reaction pileup. I strongly urge the SO to cease this dangerous enforcement practice immediately. For SEH drivers, placing your vehicle on cruise control when going downhill will ensure speed limit compliance. I do it every time I drive down the hill.
