Each year, EDCO Disposal residential customers can place trees, wreaths, garlands, and other botanical decorations curbside in their green waste container on the regular collection day between Saturday, Dec. 26 and Friday, Jan. 6 2016 at no extra charge. If the tree

is more than four feet tall, it should be cut in half before placing it in the container.

As the holidays wrap-up remember to keep the green in San Marcos. With family get-togethers, parties, gift exchanges and holiday decorations, Americans produce approximately 25 percent more waste between Thanksgiving and New Years Day. Keep the season less wasteful by using fewer disposable items and be diligent about disposing recyclable cans, bottles, gift-wrap, greeting cards and gift boxes in your blue recycling cart.

Community Reminders

-Always pick up after your pet and keep your dog on a controlled leash no more than 6 feet in length. For your convenience, there are numerous dog stations and trash receptacles strategically located throughout the community.

-Garages are designed to house vehicles and should not be used for other purposes (such as storage, home gyms, playrooms, etc.). Please use your garage for parking the number of vehicles that it was designed to hold.

-Never dump materials into the storm drain system. Delicate ecosystems live downstream. It is also a code violation, and if you are spotted by the local authorities, you can be subject to hefty fines.

-Follow all trash guidelines. Containers may not be placed outside for pick up before 6:00 p.m. on the day prior to service and must be removed no later than 9:00 p.m. the evening of the pick up. With the exception of holidays, trash is collected on Thursdays within San Elijo Hills.

Thanks for your anticipated cooperation!

Best Regards,
