A Reminder from a reader about local Rattle Snakes

San Elijo Life Reader Writes:

I was walking on the trail that goes to the top of the ridge and the water tower on the west side overlooking Lake San Marcos, my sister and I saw the largest rattle snake we have ever seen (in real life).  Apparently there were two, we were warned before we came down the trail that the snakes were there, but wow!  They were minding their own business…but this is the second time now that snakes have been seen on that exact trail (switchbacks we call them).  2 times in a week…they must sun themselves in that area….hikers be cautious.  And keep your dogs on a short leash….
