The City of San Marcos will host the first-ever “Showdown at Sundown 5K Run” on Saturday, Sept. 26 at Hollandia Park, 12 Mission Hills Court in San Marcos.
Community and elite races will begin at 5 pm and high school cross country team races will start at 6:45 pm. Sixteen cross country teams from throughout San Diego, Orange and Los Angeles counties are participating.
“The City is excited to host this event at one of our newest parks,” said Community Services Director Craig Sargent-Beach. “It’s an excellent way to showcase one of San Marcos’ greatest community assets.”
The race is sponsored by The Running Center and co-sponsored by Mission Hill High School and Mission Hills Church.
