On Sunday, October 10th, San Marcos residents and visitors will have loads of fun and learn about the Twin Oaks Valley by showing up at Walnut Grove Park between 10:00am and 2:00pm. This year the San Marcos Historical Society, San Marcos High School FFA, Wranglers 4H,and TERI,Inc will join with the Twin Oaks Valley Equestrian Association to host the Horse Heritage Festival.

This event will include an early morning Poker Ride as well as pony rides, pie eating contests, petting zoo, old time country fair and sweet shoppe, Grandma’s attic sale, historic homes tour, a pumpkin patch, horse demonstrations, BBQ lunch, live music by City Limits and up-n-coming country star Christine Marie and more! This is a family friendly event that promotes the rich cultural heritage of San Marcos and the importance of preserving a rural, equestrian presence within the community. Admission to Horse Heritage Festival is free, as are many activities throughout the day. Tickets will be required for some activities. All proceeds help support Heritage Park, the Equestrian Arena at Walnut Grove Park and TERI Inc.
