SAN MARCOS — The city will receive $84,150 in state grant funds for a Safe Routes to School project, San Marcos officials learned last week.
The money will pay for the installation of sidewalk behind an existing 5-foot sidewalk to provide a safe area for students to cross at Schoolhouse Way and San Elijo Road in the San Elijo Hills community.
The project, near San Elijo Elementary and San Elijo Middle schools, also includes the installation of guardrails on the east side of Schoolhouse Way. READ MORE VIA SD UT
