A free housing clinic will be offered on Saturday, April 16 from 10 am to 2 pm at the San Marcos Community Center, 3 Civic Center Drive, to assist and educate homeowners and homebuyers about their housing needs. The clinic is being sponsored by the Housing Opportunities Collaborative (HOC), City of San Marcos, San Diego County Library and the Legal Aid Society of San Diego.
The clinic, called the “HOME Clinic,” is a community service program of the Housing Opportunities Collaborative, a coalition of nonprofit organizations and housing agencies in the San Diego region.
Attendees will find a host of one-stop counseling resources at the workshop designed especially to assist distressed homeowners. Pro bono attorneys will also be on hand to instruction about legal options. Educational sessions on credit management, loan modifications, bankruptcy and consumer protection will also be provided.
Walk-ins are welcome, but pre-registration is recommended. Residents interested in attending should email their name, address and telephone number to [email protected] or call (800) HOC-0503 to reserve a space.
