Pennies for Patients Campaign
We are proud to announce that San Elijo Elementary will be participating in the 2012 Pennies for Patients campaign through the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, which will take place from January 27th through February 16th. So mark your calendars, as we will have a very informative and emotional “Kick Off” Flag Salute on January 27th!
Watch for next week’s Wednesday envelope, as each student will be receiving a letter from Mrs. Kalicki and the LLS along with an individual collection box explaining how the campaign works. The idea is to collect any spare change in the individual collection box and bring it to their classroom, where the money will be deposited into a “classroom collection box”. LLS is also looking for donated cell phones and they can be deposited in the Cell Phone Collection Box located in the Front Office.
Each classroom will have its own temperature gauge poster letting all students know where they stand in the campaign. The classroom earning the most money will receive a $50 gift card. The money we raise will support local cancer patients and cancer research at The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in trying to cure blood cancer. So start gathering all that loose change and old cell phones you have sitting around the house! Be sure to check out the Heroes poster displayed by the front office with local students and one of our very own teachers, Mrs. Mullane, who has been fighting against blood cancer! Let’s help The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society make change, one penny at a time.
1st Annual San Marcos Fire Department/SEES
PTO Pancake Breakfast Come join your community on Saturday from 8:00a – 10:30a at SEES for a delicious pancake breakfast cooked and served by SMFD and the SEES PTO. It will be a hot breakfast including pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, and beverages (orange juice or coffee) for only $7.00 per adult
