A public workshop was held Monday night (4.30.12) to discuss potential development plans for the Hanson Property near Cal State San Marcos. Representatives for the city of San Marcos, San Marcos Unified School District, and the developer presented. The casual workshop was designed to gain feedback from the surrounding communities and answer questions. About thirty San Marcos residents attended the session at City Hall.

A new stop light would be placed on Twin Oaks Road. Construction would take 12-18 months with the school opening September 2015. The San Marcos School District will hold public workshops in the future regarding enrollment boundaries for San Elijo Hills & Discovery Lake area and new construction.
