October is a busy month on San Elijo Elementary (SEES) campus.
The Fall Book Fair is taking place in the school library from 8:00 – 4:00 pm each day.
Penny Wars is taking place each morning from 8:15 – 8:45 am and again during PM kindergarten drop off. The tubs for coins are located under the pop up in front of the office. All money collected during this week in the Penny Wars tubs will go towards new library books, plus the class that raises the most money will win free FroYo and the teacher of that class will win a $25 Book Fair credit. Bring your change each morning!
The STAR Party/Book Fair Social will be held on Wednesday night from 5:00 – 8:00 pm outside the library. Telescopes will be on hand for star viewing and complimentary hot chocolate and glow sticks will be available. Hot Dog on a Stick will also be on site, selling a variety of items.
Red Ribbon Week continues all week. Check the SEES website for each day’s theme.
Friday is Student of the Month Flag Salute. Spooky Smencils will be on sale as well as Spirit Wear.
Box Tops for Education are due this Friday, October 26th. They can be dropped off in the PTO mailbox, community room, front office, or classrooms. Collection sheets are available in the front office or on the website. Prizes are extra recess for the top class in each grade, and Jamba Juice certificates for the top student in each grade. And the top class of the school will get the Box Top Dime to show off in their classroom.
Join Mrs. Kalicki for her monthly Coffee Chat after Flag Salute on Friday for a special good-bye to Mr. Versteeg. Friday will be his last day before he heads to his new 1st grade classroom at Joli Ann Leichtag Elementary.
