“Discover The Taste” is the major fundraiser for the Valley of Discovery Education Foundation – a non profit that provides financial services to many of the schools in the San Marcos Unified School District 100% free. (If you’ve ever donated to SEES then you made your check out to VDEF.) Many of the businesses in San Marcos and San Elijo Hills are donating prizes for our silent auction including: photography packages, a year to The Kitchen Skinny, a gourmet dinner or cooking class, golf packages at Shadowridge, and a lot more. We also have what we’re assured is the only baseball (since he’s a football player) LaDainian Tomlinson has ever signed. There will be music, food, local wine, and local beer from Stumblefoot Brewery here in San Marcos. This fundraiser basically pays for all of the costs VDEF covers for half of the schools in San Marcos (elementary, middle, and high schools) for the entire year.
