The San Elijo Hills Women's Club

The San Elijo Hills Women’s Club (SEHWC) Annual Membership Meeting and Potluck Dinner will be held on Tuesday, April 9, at 7:00pm at the home of Grace Evans, 1724 Schoolhouse Way in WestCliffe, San Elijo Hills.  If you are a woman who is looking for a group of like-minded women who want to give back to the community while having fun doing it, please join us, meet our members and learn more about the club to see if this is the right connection for you!   Please email your RSVP to [email protected].

We are a philanthropic and social group of women of all ages who want to make a difference in our community and world. We live in SEH and surrounding communities, work inside or outside the home or are retired, and find a few hours to contribute to club events and programs.  Meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month at 7pm.

Founded in 2005, our all-volunteer club has contributed to the community in many ways. Our local projects involve contributing to charities which include:

–       Straight From The Heart is a San Marcos-based foster family support agency

–       International Rescue Committee (IRC) provides resettlement assistance to international refugees

–       Women’s Empowerment International (WE) funds micro-loans for the poorest women in developing countries

–       Second Chance San Diego provides self-sufficiency programs for the homeless, unemployed and parolees reentering the community

–       The Angel’s Depot feeds San Diego County seniors in need

–       SEHWC Scholarship Fund provides monetary assistance to one deserving female senior at San Marcos High School

We also host guest speakers and events to benefit these organizations.  Some of our past activities included:

–       Wine and Cheese Party to benefit IRC

–       Food Drives in front of Albertsons for The Angel’s Depot

–       High Tea to benefit WE

–       International Food Festival and Silent Auction to benefit WE

–       Co-Host San Marcos Holiday Boutique to benefit Straight From The Heart and Scholarship Fund

–       Flower Fields Tour with Docent

–       Visit to Farmer’s Market in City Heights featuring produce grown by refugee farmers

Some upcoming events include:

–       Angel’s Depot Food Drive at Albertson’s

–       “Roll Party” Cooking Class

–       Art Party by a Professional Artist

–       A Luau Fundraiser with Silent Auction

–       Moonlight Beach Family Picnic
