San Elijo Hills Park’s playground to reopen with new play structures
On Tuesday, June 4, the San Elijo Hills Park will reopen its playground with brand new play equipment that has been under construction since May 6.
The new equipment will include two jungle gyms designed to mimic the appearance of actual jungles: one for ages two to five, and another one for ages five to 12. The structures include a spinner bucket, grip climber, rock climber and more. There will also be a brand new sandbox in the playground with a sitting wall for parents. Both play structures and the sandbox will be shaded as a safety measure to help lower the rate of sunburns.
“The new play structures will be a fantastic addition to one of the most beautiful parks in San Marcos,” said San Marcos Community Services Director Buck Martin. “And it is opening just in time for summer!”
The San Elijo Hills Park opened in 2004 and has two baseball fields, a soccer field, a smaller playground with a splash pad and a community center that hosts a daycare for local children.
