Please share your favorite neighborhoods & tips for enjoying the lights in San Elijo Hills.
The goal is to create a festive atmosphere, and the spirit of friendly competition.
*Venzano is not technically part of San Elijo Hills Association…but they share a fence line, trails, and schools with San Elijo Hills and have always been included in the spirit of the contest …Enjoy “Life in The Hills” .
Merry Christmas to all that live in the hills! After too many years of negative comments regarding this friendly competition, hopefully this year we can all focus on the joy the lights bring to our children and visitors (none of whom care where the neighborhood boundary lines are).
AMEN Family of 4!! Last year’s comments became so awful and unnecessary. Happy Holidays!
Will somebody please remove this verbiage? This sounds so conceited and down right mean! We all live up in the hills. One way in and one way out!

sd092703 you can read the history of the friendly contest here https://sanelijolife.com/?s=holiday+lights in our archives. We intentionaly included Venzano in the spirit you mention since the 1st year. We get a lot of questions about Venzano and thus this friendly verbiage. Enjoy the Lights!
Well, Venzano doesn’t pay the same taxes and Mello Roos as us other SEH residents. So, the verbiage is accurate.
SEH Resident…we were so close to do going the whole christmas season without condescending comments, but here you are. It is a fact, as disclosed in the recent K8 school proceedings, that Venzano is the only neighborhood in/near SEH that pays annual property taxes directly to the School District, NO SEH resident does. The Mello Roos/fees types are just different between SEH and Venzano. Can SEH just get past this? The new SEH neighborhoods also pay much lower Mello Roos than the first neighborhoods. Do you look down on them also?
