With an ever-increasing need for shade at existing school campuses for the safety of the students at lunch and with the physical education programs, San Elijo Middle has been selected for shade shelter installation. In conjunction with the Shade Shelter project, the field and site facilities projects at San Elijo Middle School developed in response to the higher attendance demands and curriculum requirements on the physical education program. SMUSD is removing the west end sand/volleyball courts and installing more basketball/volleyball hard courts. They are also bringing electrical and P/A speakers to the field area.

I don’t understand how installing hard scape has anything to do with shade structures??
They have placed a shade structure mid field you can see it in the photo.
