San Elijo Life has learned that the 1st fire started on Washingtonia Drive and was in the process of being extinguished by the San Marcos Fire Department crews when embers jumped and started the 2nd Cocos fire. San Marcos Fire Crews had also extinguished a fire in the Washingtonia Drive location the day before.
