ALERT: County seeks help in identifying children potentially exposed to rabies in San Marcos

The County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency is asking for help in identifying anyone who may have been exposed to a rabid bat discovered by five children under a tree in an outdoor courtyard at Civic Center Plaza, 141 North Twin Oaks Valley Road on Saturday, Oct. 18.

County health officials are urging anyone who had come in contact with the bat or can identify persons who had come in contact with the animal to contact the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency as soon as possible at (619) 692-8499.

If you did not have direct contact with the bat, you are not at risk for rabies.
