Movie in San Elijo Hills Park

Following is a list of important announcements and upcoming events for The San Elijo Hills Community Association (HOA):

Movie Night June 12th

The San Elijo Hills Community Association is hosting a FREE showing of Disney’s Academy Award winning Big Hero 6 (rated PG) as part of our summer movie series!  From Walt Disney Animation Studios, the team behind “Frozen” and “Wreck-It Ralph,” comes “Big Hero 6,” an action-packed comedy-adventure about the special bond that develops between Baymax, a plus-sized inflatable robot, and prodigy Hiro Hamada. When a devastating event befalls the city of San Fransokyo and catapults Hiro into the midst of danger, he turns to Baymax and his close friends adrenaline junkie Go Go Tomago, neatnik Wasabi, chemistry whiz Honey Lemon and fanboy Fred. Determined to uncover the mystery, Hiro transforms his friends into a band of high-tech heroes called “Big Hero 6.”

Big Hero 6 will be shown on Friday, June 12th at the upper sports field (Hilltop Field) of San Elijo Park. Pre-show activities (including bounce houses, a sticky wall and more!) will begin at 6:00PM and the movie will start at sunset (around 8:00PM). Remember to bring your low-back beach chairs and blankets for lawn seating! A few food trucks will be there and will have a variety of food & refreshments for purchase. A portion of the proceeds benefit the San Elijo Hills Foundation.

Activities will include crafts, carnival games, airbrush tattoos, bounce houses, musical entertainment, food, refreshments and other fun surprises! Don’t forget to bring your sunscreen and camera to take lots of fun pictures!

Water Restrictions Effective June 1st

San Diegans will now be able to only water their yards twice a week as part of the statewide water restrictions that went into effect June 1st. Houses with addresses that end in odd numbers can irrigate on Sunday and Thursday, while those ending in even numbers can water on Wednesday and Saturday. Any watering can now only be done between 6 p.m. and 10 a.m. for a maximum of five minutes per day. Fines for those found wasting water will range anywhere from $100 to $1,000.

Please remember to keep your yard weed free and maintained to ensure our community continues to look its best!

Please note the following corrections regarding water restrictions:

On May 20, 2015, Vallecitos’ Board of Directors adopted emergency drought restrictions under Ordinance 195 that limits all outdoor irrigation, excluding certified agricultural or commercial growers, during the months of June through October to 2 unassigned days per week/8 minutes per station. If demands are not reduced by 24%, additional enforcement may be needed and the District may need to reduce watering to 1 assigned day per week.

For more information, please visit the Vallecitos website.

  1. Hello My name is Karen. My grandson and grand daughter would like to play basketball near their home in san Elijo Hills . Please build a basketball court. Thank You concerned grandparent.

    1. Agreed we will share this with HOA. We also suggest you share this with San Marcos school district who locks up it’s courts and The City of San Marcos who runs The San Elijo Hills Park. The Developer of San Elijo Hills -Home Fed should also hear your request. Collectively it would be great to have Community basketball courts here in San Elijo Hills. La Costa Canyon Park has a great court that is 5 mins drive from SEH. Thanks for your comment and readership!
