LEARN HOW TO PREVENT UNDERAGE DRINKING BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE
The whole community is invited to learn about & discuss the harms of underage drinking at
Mission Hills High School in San Marcos
San Marcos – Underage drinking prevention will be the main topic at a town hall taking place at Mission Hills High School Theatre, 1 Mission Hills Court, in San Marcos on Wednesday, March 23rd, 2016 at 6pm. The San Marcos Prevention Coalition (SMPC) collaboration with the San Marcos Unified School District and other prevention organizations is putting together this meeting at part of a an initiative sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
According to SAMHSA, nearly 9 million American youth drink alcohol, illegally and dangerously. The town hall meeting will give participants the opportunity to hear real life testimonies about the negative consequences of underage drinking, learn about the San Marcos Social Host Ordinance, law that helps prevent underage drinking, in addition to discuss and learn strategies to help prevent underage drinking.
