Mardi Gras 2017

The San Elijo Hills Community Association would like to cordially invite our residents 21 and over to our Mardi Gras Party at Café Stoked! The event will be held on Friday, February 10th at 6:00 PM.

Residents will be delighted with delicious food, music, dancing and contests in the true spirit of New Orleans!

Attendance to this event is limited! Cost is $5.00/person. You must provide a check (no cash) payable to San Elijo Hills to Liz McCardle in the San Elijo Hills Onsite Office in order to reserve your spot! All reservations will be taken on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Graffiti

Recently the community has been experiencing an increase in graffiti vandalism. If you witness any graffiti within the community, please contact the City of San Marcos. Below is information off the City’s website:

The City of San Marcos removes graffiti on public and private property within 24-48 hours of being reported. If you have graffiti on your property, and you need assistance in removing it, please contact our graffiti hotline (760) 591-9100.

Download a Graffiti Authorization Form: http://www.san-marcos.net/home/showdocument?id=66 . After printing the authorization form, please mail back to the address indicated on the form or you can fax it back to (760) 744-9520.

• Graffiti cleanup is a top priority in The City of San Marcos. The city employs a full-time graffiti removal team.
• Graffiti is the most common type of property vandalism (35%) according to the Bureau of Justice Statistics.
• Immediate removal – within 24-48 hours – is the key to successful graffiti prevention.
• Please contact the Sheriff’s Department to report suspicious activity at 510-5200.
The City prosecutes vandals when arrests have been made. Within the past year, 15 juveniles were arrested for graffiti vandalism in San Marcos. All of the suspects were convicted of Felony Vandalism; the cost of the damage was over $400 and the defendants had a prior conviction for vandalism. On average, each defendant must reimburse the City approximately $1,200. All were assigned to Juvenile Diversion programs and several served time in Juvenile Hall.
