Save the Date – Movie in the Park-Part I
The San Elijo Hills Community Association is hosting a FREE showing of Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark (rated PG) as part of our summer movie series Friday June 9th at the lower softball field of San Elijo Hills Park!
The year is 1936. An archeology professor named Indiana Jones is venturing in the jungles of South America searching for a golden statue. Unfortunately, he sets off a deadly trap but miraculously escapes. Then, Jones hears from a museum curator named Marcus Brody about a biblical artifact called The Ark of the Covenant, which can hold the key to humanly existence. Jones has to venture to vast places such as Nepal and Egypt to find this artifact. However, he will have to fight his enemy Rene Belloq and a band of Nazis in order to reach it.
For our younger audiences, we will be showing a 30 minute compilation of Looney Tunes prior to the main feature!
Pre-show activities (including bounce houses, a sticky wall and more!) will begin at 6:00PM and the Looney Tunes will start after sunset (around 8:30PM) with the main feature beginning at approximately 9:00 PM.
Remember to bring your low-back beach chairs and blankets for lawn seating.
This year we will provide free popcorn! The San Elijo Hills Foundation will provide few food trucks and will have a variety of food & refreshments for purchase.

GOVERNOR ENDS DECLARATION OF DROUGHT
On April 7, 2017, Governor Brown issued Executive Order B-40-17. With this an important change has occurred.
Associations were previously prohibited from enforcement action against homeowners who allowed their yards to “go brown” by not watering it during the declared state of a drought.
Now that the declaration has ended, homeowners are requested to take immediate steps to restore the look of their yards, by either replacing the turf grass or submitting a request for improvements to change to a drought tolerant landscape; or submitting an application for approval for artificial turf, in conformance with the minimum requirements adopted by the Association.
For copies of the current architectural guidelines, including the artificial turf policy, please contact Interim Community Director, Rashell DeYoung at sehstaff@waltersmanagement.com.
Filing Complaints
When living in a community association, neighbor relations is an on-going process. If a concern arises, it can be a challenging and uncomfortable situation. Some would like to be anonymous so as to avoid confrontation with the person who is in violation of the rules.
To take action based on an anonymous complaint interferes with a homeowner’s due process rights. If an anonymous complaint cannot be identified, and the Association cannot independently verify the violation, penalties cannot be levied.
We are here to help! The rules and regulations contain a complaint form that you may submit for review by the Association. Upon verification of the infraction, the Association can begin the enforcement process.
If you have questions or would like to obtain a form, please contact Walters Management at 760-431-2522 or access on the Association’s website.
