In partnership with the County of San Diego and the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the City of San Marcos is proud to announce the new San Elijo Storefront Substation, a new community hub for safety and service. Slated to open this fall, the storefront is located on the second floor of 1105 Elfin Forest Road.

The San Elijo Storefront is a collaborative effort, with the City of San Marcos donating the property for the storefront to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department and the County of San Diego funding the upgrades to the site. The new storefront will serve as a resource for safety, community engagement and public service, reinforcing protective services like community policing, crime prevention, emergency responses and more.

“The opportunity for San Marcos to offer yet another public safety location demonstrates our commitment to maintaining the exceptional quality of life our community members have come to expect here,” shared Mayor Rebecca Jones. “The San Elijo Storefront Substation will not only foster community connections and deliver essential services, but also activate a proactive approach to protecting our beloved City.”

The San Elijo Storefront will allow for close coordination with local emergency services to achieve efficient and timely responses to any situation. Additionally, the storefront will offer various public workshops and programs to educate the San Marcos community on public safety.

“Crime prevention will be a direct result of the storefront because it will provide needed resources for our law enforcement to implement regular patrols, provide community education and collaborate with residents,” said San Marcos Sheriff Captain Kevin Ralph. “The storefront will support our effort to preserve a secure and connected community for generations to come.”

More information about the storefront will be available leading up to its grand opening this fall.
