San Elijo Hills Fire Safe Council

The San Elijo Hills Fire Safe Council, Inc (SEH FSC) has been formed by community volunteers in San Elijo, Venzano and Old Creek Ranch, and was officially approved by the County March 13th, 2025.

This council is one of over 150 local councils in California collaborating with the California Fire Safe Council and local, county, and state fire agencies to enhance community safety and resilience.

They will be developing: 

• Emergency preparedness plans for the community
  • This proactive measure minimizes loss of life, property, homes, businesses, natural areas, and other valuable assets at risk of being destroyed by wildfire
• Increasing the chances that homes in the community will continue to be insured
• Seeking funding and implementing fuels reduction and education & outreach projects
  • Focusing on Zone 0, home hardening and Chapter 7A construction
