Free flu shots to be offered in San Marcos
Stay healthy during the Fall and Winter seasons

On Thursday, Oct. 22 from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm, the County of San Diego will be hosting a free flu shot clinic in San Marcos at the City’s Community Services Main Hall, 3 Civic Center Drive.

The flu clinic will have shots available for children six months and older and pregnant women. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends influenza “flu” immunizations for all individuals six months of age or older. Vaccinating those who care for infants younger than six months protects not only those individuals, but these young infants as well.

In addition to obtaining the vaccine, residents can take simple, everyday steps that prevent the spread of germs that cause respiratory illnesses. San Diego County Health and Human Services recommends washing hands often with soap and water; avoid touching eyes, nose or mouth; avoid close contact will individuals who are ill; and cleaning your workspace routinely.

Flu season in the U.S. typically occurs between December and May of each year.
