SEH Community Project Updates
The Board of Directors is happy to announce the completion of the Front Entry Renovation project. There are still a few minor punch list items being addressed, and a handful of light fixtures on back order, but tonight you will see our front entry lit up for Valentine’s Day. On Tuesday, the lights will revert back to the standard white, which you can expect to see each evening, or until the next holiday.

Our main goals with this project were to: renovate the pond, install a more visible and lighted sign, re-grade the landscape areas to capture valuable rainwater and move it away from the pond, remove the trees with invasive roots that were compromising the retaining walls, and pond and replace with trees appropriately sized for that space, and install a new electrical supply and lighting so that our entry not only popped during the day but also at night.

As we wrap up this project, you’ll see us moving into Fountain Square to continue renovations there. During the last few weeks, we’ve been renovating the trellis and it’s currently being repainted. We’re also painting the tables and benches, and are reviewing bids to renovate the fountain.

If you’ve visited the fountain recently, you’ll notice it’s exterior is crumbling and in pretty bad shape. The cantera stone the developer used to construct the fountain veneer is water-soluble and too soft for this type of application. We’ve worked with an architect to identify a precast concrete veneer that will stand the test of time and bring our town’s centerpiece back to life.

The landscape maintenance crew will be working in Fountain Square over the next couple months to renovate the plant material, and add some much needed lighting to the landscape and eventually the fountain, once refurbished. The new lighting fixtures will be similar to what we used at the front entry, and have the ability to be programmed for holidays and events. Additionally, we’ll be evaluating and upgrading the electrical supply in Fountain Square Park, as it relates to the Christmas tree and holiday lighting, to mitigate weather related outages and water intrusion issues.

Some additional projects and goals the Board has identified for 2022:East entry monument & sign renovation Community Landscape Renovations: drip conversions, neighborhood monument signs and lighting, etc Working with the City on traffic issues on and near Questhaven Ongoing after-hours trespassing at Questhaven Park Proactive measures to reduce insurance rates
