San Elijo Hills  – In a significant development, school transportation services in the community of San Elijo Hills, Double Peak School and the San Marcos Unified School District (SMUSD) are set to expand. The goal is to provide greater convenience and accessibility for families and students residing more than a mile from their respective schools, thanks to recent state funding.

Eligible Schools for Home-to-School Bus Service

Initially tailored to serve low-income families with students living a mile or more from school, this program’s success has led to its extension to several additional schools. The schools now eligible for this essential home-to-school bus service include:

  2. Double Peak School
  3. Knob Hill Elementary
  4. Joli Ann Leichtag Elementary
  5. La Mirada Academy
  6. Paloma Elementary
  7. Richland Elementary
  8. San Marcos Elementary
  9. Twin Oaks Elementary

Beginning with the 2023-24 school year, students residing more than a mile from their schools can anticipate a more convenient daily commute.
