Update on the street paving project schedule. Slurry seal efforts are scheduled to begin the week of October 5 in the San Elijo Hills area and the neighborhoods where paving work is planned.
Leading up to this work the contractor will place “No Parking” signs and deliver a doorhanger notice 72-hours in advance.
What to expect during construction:
- Traffic delays could be likely so please give yourself plenty of time to get where you need to go.
-
For properties that have received a door notice regarding slurry seal work, driving and parking will on the newly treated surface will not be allowed until the slurry seal has dried. In most cases, the roadway will reopen by the end of the day of application or once traffic control devices have been removed.
- After the slurry seal is applied, the road takes several weeks to fully cure before it can be repainted with the final street lines and other road markings.
- You may notice some divots in the road after the slurry seal is applied, but those even out after several weeks as cars continue to drive and the road cures.
- Crews will return to sweep up loose material, restore pavement markings and complete the final finishing work.
- Work hours are Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
If you have questions about the project, you can contact the city’s construction hotline at construction@sanmarcosca.gov or 760-744-1050, ext. 4040.
The project webpage has additional details, maps showing what roads are getting paved, and other commonly asked questions.
Thanks for your patience during construction as the city completes this important road maintenance work.
